Hello, i installed your Meta tags patch.
Its a great component for saving time!
But i have a big problem.
Description metatag is perfect but if i check my code i see totally unrelevant keywords. It can only ruin seo results.
Example:
Topic name: Microsoft security forum.
Description: Microsoft security news andout IE 7.
If i check my meta keywords i see only:
for, they, are, you, have, not, for
such keywords are totally irrelevant
I have this problem on every page.
Can you help me? |

Unfortunately, the method which was available on phpBB2 to enhance keywords is not possible in phpBB3. Despite the fact every things seems to be in place to exclude words in the search tables, phpBB3 does not use it.
But, the mod is still using the common words filtering, so words such as "you", "not" and "for" should not display when using the built in search engine (not the mysql one).
This is something we'll work on, but trust me, it's not the kind of thing that will ruin your SERPs, meta tags are not this important any more, especially the keyword tags. I meant, it could be a problem if you'd use the same on all pages, or if none of it would be found-able in the content, but here, it's not the case, it's only that keywords could be better, even if this would probably not change much in SERPs, at least for sanity
