|
|
Hey!
My indexed pages in Google have recently gone from almost 1000 to about 150 and seems to keep going down. I understand that I need to install Zero Duplicates, but I had a question. Does installing new templates and/or mods affect SEO? I have about 4 old templates installed (I'm obviously only using one) and about 6 smalls mods. I thought I was doing quite well with Google when my indexed pages were approaching 1000, but now I'm very concerned that Google hates my forum for some reason. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it just a matter of installing Zero Duplicates?
Thanks in advance,
Chris |

It's hard to help with this few details. |
Sorry. I've moved my topic to the appropriate forum. |

Sorry, I saw your duplicate post and deleted it. Would you post more details (e.g., what version of phpBB) and we'll go from there.

Bots should see only one template (the default). Without knowing what mods you refer to, I cannot say whether they would affect SEO. How many unique pages (non duplicates) does your forum contain? How old is it? What's the URL?
I don't think Google "hates" sites; if you have good, unique content, you're indexed. If you have ordinary, common content, you're less likely to be index (or less of your site will be indexed). My approach to SEO is simple: If it's good for visitors, it's good for search engines too. |
