Search engine visitors

Only 10% of the visitors from my site come to my site through search engines (92% from Google). Is this bad or good? Most visitors come direct (65%) and then 25% through links from other sites.

Actually 10% is not much and should increase with time and content.

The thing is to work against exclusivity in visitor sources.
The best in a web site's life is when each type of source is used : referred visitors, direct visits and search engines.

As well, even if Google is most of the time the one to bring the most visits among SEs, we should work on the other ones, to be a little less dependant from this single source.

Well, Google has 92% but this isnt bad I think, because my site is in slovak language and Google is the only big SE translated in this language. So you think everything sould be 33% ?

33% will be hard to reach.

The 92% from Google among SE is indeed explained by the Slovak language.
But even in English, Google is often trusting over 50% of SE visitors.

It's no big deal if Google brings the most visitor, but as a general principle, it better not to be this dependent from a single source.

All we can do is keep ind mind we need to work on other sources as well.

Youre right...
I tried searching my site in MSN Live Search and MSNBot indexed only 83 pages from my site while Google has 2710 indexed pages.
Yahoo has only 293 but Yahoo isnt important serach engine for me since it isnt trasnalted in Slovak language.
How can I make MSNBot index my sites better?

Most of what is good for Google is good for the other search engines, so there is nothing much to do besides the never ending backlink and content quest. Especially for msn, far being the one bringing the fewer visitors most of the time.

But, there are some specific things such as meta tags or nav links that seems to be of a greater effect on msn.

How do you know that 92% of your traffic is from google? I want to learn to get information and data like that for my home based business site??

Well, if you want to accurately track the visitors that matters, only user with JS on, no bots, it's definitely the tool for it.

But, basically any decent statistic software or service will give you such information about where did your user came from (SE's, other referrer ...).
