I would like to suggest a client who owns an online store with thousands of products to rewrite multiple URL's to make them static.
Is there a way to rewrite multiple URL's at once in order to avoid rewriting them one by one?
If there is solution to this problem, could you provide a solution for Apache, UNIX and IIS servers.
Could you also tell me how long the entire process of rewriting could take? |

Well, it's not very easy to give a simple and general answers on how to implement URL rewriting.
Rewriting the link themselves depends on the script you are using, the server is only involved to make these transformed URL to work (mod_rewrite on Apache, isapi_rewrite on ISS etc ..).
And you as well need to define a fine URL standard for your application before you start to transform all the urls.
What script are you using for your online stores ?
You should find some more clues about URL rewriting implementation in the Apache mod_rewrite forum.
