Getting Search Engine Traffic? Starting it?

I have the web site in place. It's got good SEO. Keywords on the pages, links are optimized, everything is ready.

How do I go about getting a search engine to recognize it (google) and how do I get a higher search engine positioning with it?

Well, SEO is all about optimizing your content and code.

First thing to work on when the code is ready is content, no content no search matches Wink

So this mean new content added on a regular basis and well organized.

You need to target the first keyword to work on and provide content about it. This can be a long run starting from scratch, but it's the first thing to do.

Then, work on backlinks, try obtaining good one on related web-sites, and never stop Wink

Once you'll start having the first results, you'll be able to accurately track which are the keywords or key-phrase providing the more visits and work on optimizing them as well, as they could be out of what your first expected as keywords to work on.

You should first choose keyword friendly domain or subdomain

for example, If you target "Accounting Information" keyword then you should choose -www.accounting-information.com domain. Its lengthy but it will give you good traffic from search engines. Next step Get Links from forums,directories with your keywords like [http://www.accounting-information .com ] Accounting Information [/url] and wait for next updates of search engines. Laughing

That's not as easy as this, but yes, it helps out a lot to have keywords in the domain name.

One shall never forget though, that we do websites for users, not for bots, so you as well want your domain name to be handy to use.

creating search engine traffic has simple 3 ways to be followed.
1) write good content and be more specific and clear.
2) creating the links easily accessed by the readers.
3)well built network of contacts,friends and like minded bloggers.
