Enable mod_rewrite through htaccess

Hi there. I'm using dansih gigahost for my serve needs. There's no default mod_rewrite on option in their cp, but they told me that it's possible to turn mod_rewrite on through a htaccess file in the root. Sp no I'm asking you, how do I do that couse until then I can't isntall this MOD...

If mod_rewrite is available on your server, then you don't have to worry about starting it, the .htaccess generator will generate a .htaccess with the proper code to do it, which for further reference is :
