phpbb-seo.com - SEOPosted: Tue Jun 10, 2008 12:19 am    Post subject: phpbb-seo.com - SEO

Hi

I love this site, and im currently planning to re-install a copy of your pre-modded seo tool kit Very Happy

This is mainly a thanks for your site and everyone involved in php-seo.com for effort into seo for phpbb3.

But I do have one question. I am sure you fully support all your seo methods, however, I was wondering why you use the Mixed SEO URL method and not the Advanced SEO URL? Having said this, I have noticed posts made by your Moderators/Admin are Advanced, and the topic titles are injected.

Any reason for choosing this type of SEO?

Thanks
Brucey

The topic was raised couple time, but yes, we are using an in between mod here based on a custom mod_rewrite from back when we where developing on phpBB2.

The idea was to perform some "research" at first and then to demonstrate how far could URL rewriting go. The mod never was released and actually stayed at the unreleasable state (stable though) because it implies too many changes and is not this much worth it.

The mixed mod like url where chosen for the same reason as ever, we though that support topic title would be hard to moderate for the advanced mod, with the experience we've had now, we may change our choice while converting, but nothing is decided. At list, this is a good proof that we do not give advices for other we do not follow : topic title injection may not be the working for all solution, especially now that phpBB3 support virtual folder as on phpBB SEO Wink

We are now in the situation where our SEO premod for phpBB3 is more optimized than phpBB SEO itself actually, conversion will do some good Laughing

Thanks for your reply.

I believe the advanced mod will work for my solution as I will be appointing new moderators who will be in charge of specific sections on my forum. This will ease pressure for mysefl and global moderators so we don't have to change the topic titles every time something is posted, the other moderators can do this.

Any more question, what if a topic gets indexed before we get a chance to change the topic title? And then after we change the name?

The zero duplicate is the solution for title edition and much more : http://www.phpbb-seo.com/boards/is-this-a/duplicate-vt2725.html
