HTTP Status Code: HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Hi...I'm a complete noob when it comes to this but I seem to get away with it...but...

I've installed the simple rewrite mod and works fine. I've installed the zerodupe mod and checked both -http://www.myforum.com/testforum/phpBB2/topic82.html and -http://www.myforum.com/testforum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=82 on websniffer.net and they both return HTTP Status Code: HTTP/1.1 200 OK.

Please excuse my ignorance but should that 301 and not 200? I'm lost from here on.

Basically I'm testing it before I put it into my active forum and don't want to lose my pagerankings when I go live.

Am I doing the right thing or am I missing the point totally? Thanks for the MOD

When you click on test forum it rewrites to the http version.

I just tried it again and it came up with the 301 for the viewtopic.php?t=82 and 200 for the topic82.html.

That still isn't right is it? topic82.html should also be a 301?

EDIT: I read your instructions...I was getting confused with the Accept-Encoding: gzip

Headers are perfect upon redirection : http://www.piaggioforums.com/testforum/phpBB2/post629.html

And it's normal that topicxx.html returns a 200 ok header, it's just a page loaded without redirection, that's the magic about mod rewrite, everything is like if topicxx.html really was a physical html file, thus accessed ok (200) Wink
