Assuming you're indeed talking about a sub domain, not a sub forum, then, you need to update your phpBB server settings in acp to math the new location for server name (sub.example.com), script path (/), and cookie domain (.example.com).

And generate new .htaccess once done. You'll additionally need to properly redirect the old forum location to the new one, and the zero duplicate would do the rest.

We've been waiting a lot longer than that for your million dollars transfer ;)

Sorry to tell you this, but your approach is just wrong.
You cannot try to do things that imply the change of all your forum urls, and thus you indexing and SERPs, before you actually know how to do it, and obviously, did not think about the real interest to do it i the first place. Especially if you'll be blaming people willing to help you out for free once you've ran into trouble.

Patience is just GOLD SEO wise, because most of the SEO choices one can make are meant for the long run. Excuse me, but three days is not even close to long term, and actually is a neglectible piece of time compared to what is involved.

Then, what part is left for "I don't know" in dcz's post :
dcz wrote:Assuming you're indeed talking about a sub domain, not a sub forum, then, you need to update your phpBB server settings in acp to math the new location for server name (sub.example.com), script path (/), and cookie domain (.example.com).

I mean, with all the sub domains we run here, isn't it obvious that our expertise is above "I don't know" on that matter ?

So, if you're willing to share more that hanger, please do, we need you to help us out to help you out.
Precise questions will receive precise answer, that's all we can do here.

What part of :
dcz wrote:you need to update your phpBB server settings in acp to math the new location for server name (sub.example.com), script path (/), and cookie domain (.example.com).

don't you understand ?
There is a typo, math should be match, but I think it's rather easy to understand the meaning of this, you need to update you phpBB server settings in acp !
In your case it means :
Code: Select all
server name:forum.gamehaxerz.com
script path : /
cookie domain : .gamehaxerz.com

And then :
dcz wrote:And generate new .htaccess once done. You'll additionally need to properly redirect the old forum location to the new one, and the zero duplicate would do the rest.

:!:

This is of course if you a) decide yourself about what do you want to actually do and then b) pay a bit more attention to what people tell you to help you out ;)

The redirect part is only important if your forum was indexed in the main domain. If so, the redirecting will depend on where it was installed (sub directory or domain root), so give more details if you need more help.

We'd win time if you'd spend more time on your post, do you meant that the old forum index location was :
Code: Select all
www.gamehaxerz.com/index.php

?
Is your new sub domain located in the same ftp account as the www, and where relatively in case it is ?

Ok, so all you'll need to properly redirect using a single http 301 redirection will be to keep the old .htaccess (the one generated when phpBB was in example.com/forum/) in the main domains root, and to leave the new on in the sub domain's root (eg in www/forum).
This way old url like example.com/forum/topic-txx.html will be linked to example.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=xx (where the file physically is) and the zero duplicate will http 301 redirect it to forum.example.com/topic-txx.html directly.
