Just installed phpBB SEO - relatively painless - so I'm quite happy with it! (good job y'all). The only little bug that we've found is this (hard to explain):

When viewing a topic the link on the post title is not being rewritten properly or at all.

eg. what should be -http://www.example.com/topic-txx.html#p408
is being written as
eg. -http://www.example.com/#p408

and one gets booted back to the root.

I'm sure it's just an edit I missed in the initial instructions - any help?

So to reiterate this, the link on the post title above:

I've checked and re-checked and definitely have this step complete in viewtopic_body.html:

The other steps on that page seem to be not working as well - everything involving U_VIEW_TOPIC

mm, if the templates (all of them) are properly modded as it seems, then the issue must be in viewtopic.php. But before you double check it, make sure that you have no other :

in your viewtopic_body.html template, since these type of links won't work with virtual folders, they need to use a complet url. And :

{U_VIEW_TOPIC}

should actually hold the topic's current url in the template.

I double-checked viewtopic.php and all mods looked ok...

I emptied the cache directory a few dozen times while in a browser hard refreshing on most/all topics on the forum. Everything seems to be working well now. Thanks for your help/response...

Ok, so now I notice that once the site is browsed some (and cache files created) the title and "to top" links start breaking. They work only when the eight /cache/tpl_prosilver_* files are removed.

The cache files are not being created properly. eg. The post link looks like this in /cache/tpl_prosilver_viewtopic_body.html.php
<a href="#p<?php echo $_postrow_val['POST_ID']; ?>">

maybe I have a similar issue. Everything works fine but when I edit a post, after edit is ended, it returns -http://www.mysite.com/forum/post7.html#p7, instead of -http://www.mysite.com/forum/post-title-t7.html, that was not rewritten so I have a not found error page.
Can someone help me please?

You may as well need to clear your template's cache using the style acp instead of just clearing phpBB's cache.

It's not really comparable, and beside, it's not an issue, there is no real need to rewrite these links differently since bots do not post (thus do not see these) and the zero duplicate is redirecting them anyway (depending on your post redirection option).
So it's not an SEO threat at all, and rather a cosmetic matter.

thanks for your answer dcz. Maybe I was not very clear,sorry. I installed phpbb seo advanced, everythig works fine except post editing. When a user edit a post, then he doesn't come back to his message but obtain a 404 error page.
Can someone help me? Thank you very much.

Could be due to the .htaccess, could you post here the url resulting in a 404 ?

I have a not found error and the url not found is

-www.mywebsite.com/forum/post2.html#p2

http://demo.phpbb-seo.net/post3.html#p3
message26070.html#p26070

These should work, so a 404 most likely means a .htaccess issue, the weird thing being that it should usually fail for all urls when it does, not posts only.

Could you post your .htaccess and tell me where you implemented it. Your site url could help out too.
