I've just installed the pre phpBB SEO and have set it to mixed. I've read through a lot of the documentation but I'm getting a little lost on what settings I should make. Is there a post or somewhere with recommended settings for a new board? I figure a lot of the warnings are for changes to existing boards.

* Are virtual folders for profiles and topics a good idea?

* I'm guessing that SID & Highlight removing for guests is a good idea for bots?

* I have activated the "no duplicate", Is there a need to activate the "zero duplicate" and strict mode?

I'm obviously looking for good SEO but I really want something that's going to work without a bunch of changes or management from me. Thanks for the help!

I posted before reading through everything twice. I think I have a pretty good handle on it now except for the "zero duplicate" and strict mode. I pretty much have everything else activated.

Problem is that these choices depends on each forum, there is no final answer.
Though, the mixed mod with virtual folders activated is a good compromise, since you can still use selected keywords in the forum url bit, and do not worry too much about the topic title average quality.
A good way to find out is to take the time to try the option on a local / test server, and of course to have a look at how others did set it up, like here on phpBB SEO on on the demo server (demo.phpbb-seo.net).

About the zero duplicate, it should always be activated, and the strict mod every time it is possible (the option is mainly here for case where mods would need it). As well, the post redirection option should almost always be at least set to "guest" to prevent postxx.html duplicate listing in search engines.

Thanks for the help. I finally have everything setup with seobb including a few title and keyword mods.

Now on to making my landing page...
