Some of ACP broken

Postby stealthmktg » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:33 pm

My other problem after mod install is basically any ACP page with a [submit] button no longer works/saves. For example User Registration Settings. After hitting submit, the page is just white (like a php error) - I can then refresh and no changes were saved.

Could just be a language file / code change issue, in case you are using other languages than the one released and did not mod update them properly (you need to add languages files to add, even untranslated, in each language pack).

Have you tried to activate debug in config.php ( un-commenting the last two lines) to see if you get some error message ?

The CHMOD_WRITE constant was recently added in phpBB, it should be defined in includes/constant.php. So if it is not and you see this error, it means that you did not fully update phpBB the last time you did.
So now, the best would be to use winmerge (or beyond compare but it's not free) to compare your forum files with a fresh phpBB (you can compare two directories directly) and to manually check all files that do not match.
It's a matter of couple hours max, and is not this difficult, you just need to make sure that you have all the phpBB code any where no mod did already change something (our mods are always identified in the code, so you cannot miss them).

The lazy way would be to only check includes/constant.php at first, and see how it goes, but I still recommend you to check all files.

thank you thank you for all your replies & help dcz. Getting the chmod rules added to constants.php - solved all my problems with admin, mod rewrite, zero dupe. etc.

Thanks again for your diligence in responding to all our cries for help.
