After reply, redirect to wrong url

Postby aliefmaksum » Wed Nov 18, 2009 10:16 am

Hello,
After installing, everything working fine.. Except when we're replying the post :(
After done some search, i found that the problem is on the url redirect

Currently:http://forumsxxx.com/post24.html#p24

After checking, It should be:http://forumsxxxx.com/hello-t2.html#p24

I'm using black-pearl theme. I know maybe it only need simple update, but i'm new to phpbb and need some help :) (maybe just pointing out the file and the variable i should change)

Any help is appreciated :)

There is no real need to change this link. Because unless you actually want to see post url indexed, they should be disallowed in the robots.txt (read the warning in install file before you do anything with the robots.txt though), and they are properly redirected by the zero duplicate. No need to add that bot do not post either.

So it's all normal, at least it's what the ultimate seo url mod is doing when working.

I have the exact same problem. Creating a new topic works fine, but replying, editing, or deleting a post gives me a page with an incorrect link back to the post.

If I make a new post, the redirect url is something like: -http://mysite.com/forum/my-forum/my-topic-t29, which works perfectly.

If I reply to that, the redirect url instead becomes something like -http://mysite.com/forum/post85#p85, which doesn't work. It should be -http://mysite.com/forum/my-forum/my-topic-t29#p85, but for some reason this doesn't work.

I'm running phpbb3, your SEO Ultimate 0.6.2, and your No Duplicate 0.6.2 mod. I'm running in Advanced mode, no sql rewriting, virtual folder, no virtual root, forum url caching, and forum id removing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hm, I see on this forum, where it works of course, that I got redirected to -http://www.phpbb-seo.com/en/message33431.html#p33431 after making my previous post, and that this url works fine, even though the actual url to my post is -http://www.phpbb-seo.com/en/advanced-seo-url/article5768.html#p33431

Hm, this indicates that something is wrong with the urlrewrite rules? It gets picked up as a forum url, not a message url.

Indeed it was a problem with the url rewrites. I had changed the file extensions of most of the urls to get rid of the .html, we like it better when there are none. I also changed the ending on the single post url, but the .htaccess generator didn't read that setting properly, so the rewrite rule we got was something like
Code: Select all
^post([0-9]+)\.html$
when it should have been
Code: Select all
^post([0-9]+)$

The .htaccess generator works perfectly for all the other urls where we removed the extension, so I'll just assume this is a small bug for one specific url. We managed to fix it manually, but it would be nice if it could be fixed in the mod itself.

This last issue is fixed in svn (will be usable with 3.0.7, until then, keep your manual edit in .htaccess) ;)
