What means "This Forum URL is not cached"

Postby boozzz » Sat Mar 06, 2010 3:02 pm

Hi there,

I have now successfully installed the Ultimate SEO URL phpBB3 SEO mod rewrite 0.6.2. When I select Advanced mode and click on Forum URL Management it says
This Forum URL is not cached

Image

Can anyone explain what that means and how I can change my topic names to discussions.html, planning-to-go.html, etc.?

Thank you!

Only forums can have url without id, not topics.
To do so, you need to activate the forum id removing options and then, set the custom urls in forum url management (your pic) and submit them (that's when they will be added to the cache).

Thank you very much! Now it's written in green colour and it says
Code: Select all
URL Cached : discussions
Final URL : discussions.html

However, when I go to my forum, the url is still .../viewforum.php?f=9 instead of .../discussions.html.

There's probably still an option which I need to activate, but I don't know which one it is. Please help.

If you don't see link rewritten, then you either just did not activated url rewriting in acp or did not implement the mod fully (edits in phpBB files).

Thank you! URL rewriting was not activated

Now I have a much bigger problem. My browser (firefox, konqueror) shows the following error when I click on a topic link:

Code: Select all
Not Found
The requested URL /planning-to-go.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'm pretty sure that I installed the mod correctly. Need help urgently.

Have you generated your .htaccess and placed it where the red message of the .htaccess generator told you to (and NOT anywhere else) ?

I have an ongoing board. everything is updated to latest version etc..

Tried to add a new Fourm and when I go into Forum URL Management and try to get rid of ID, and yes I have all the seo settings in place to do that.

I get the error:

Red Light Camera Ticket - ID 87:
This Forum URL is not cached
Final URL : red-light-camera-ticket.html

How do I fix this so it works just like all the other forums that I did this too?

Thanks.

Fixed: For some reason my new added forum wasn't being added to phpbb_cache.php, so I had to add it manually to the script. Now it works.
