Right, I had Advacnced SEO URL installed and working perfectly, then had problem with some of the files being lost not because the mod but they were common.php, index.php..etc. So after getting the forum back up and running, i reinstalled the Advanced SEO URL, went throughd id all the file edits. Now the Mod Rewrite works on all the URL's apart from Index.php where as before it becaomse forum.html now all i get when going to that url is :

Not Found
The requested URL /forum.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

i did the test No.9 in the instructions and it went to the phpbb perfectly. Have i done something wrong?
I have portal installed on the forum to which is the default page for the URL to load to. but it was all working perfectly before.

Right, I added this line in the setup_phpbb_seo.php file like it says in the install instruction and changed it to "board" and seem be working fine now. Thanks
