mod_rewrite on, but URLS return 404

Postby nrackleff » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:23 pm

I set up the module just fine in my dev site running on MAMP on my Mac. When I copied everything up to the Rackspace server and ran the install and set it to the same settings, it looks like it should be running, but when I turn it on, all the rewritten URLs return 404 errors. I created the .htaccess file and placed it at the root of the site. I tried it with and without the .htaccess options. I've tried setting it to advanced mode, simple mode and mixed mode. I am sure mod_rewrite is on. I can see it listed in the php info file. The Rackspace server address is just an IP for now, rather than a domain name. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

We found out what the problem was. It had nothing to do with the SEO module. The problem was that override was set to none so the .htaccess file was not even being used. Once we allowed override, everything started working fine.

That would do it. Thanks for the update. :)
