Well, privacy is not really involved if data are kept anonymous. A website is not a person, so, there is no privacy for website related data.

I don't think you'll find answers about this in Google TOS, but try to make a page with no link to it on the web, and then load it once with a google bar, and wait
The same will work with adsense and analytic ...

About the clicks in serps, they already provide with data about this in your google webmaster account, so it's just obvious that they count everything about how user behave in their SERP.

well, obviously adsense and analytics will invite google because you are telling them the page is there...

my question is, why would the google toolbar send traffic data to their servers if the site searched didn't come from a search on the google tool bar...

say you don't have adsense or analytics, and you just have the google toolbar and go to a webpage directly, by typing in the url, you are saying that the toolbar sends that data to google servers?

if so, i'd like to set up a test browser and try it out

and even if data is kept anonymous, it is alexa's policy to at least let you know they track your data but keep it anonymous...

The google bar TOS tells you that in case you activate PR, anonymous data will be sent ...

Getting listed in dmoz is really tough i am waiting from past 1 year..after seeing this thread i wonder how much patience i have to keep...

I've been waiting since 2007. It's not easy and it take time... Will see if I'm ever listed.

It took me a few months to get listed in the Open Directory. It's a plus to have a backlink there and those from the mirrors, but I don't think it's that important SEO-wise (anymore). Excluding Dmoz-editors and SEOers... internet users around the planet might even not know about the existence of the ODP.

I noticed a few weeks back that my site is now in DMOZ.

About the same time my site seemed to do less well in the search engine rankings
