Fraudlent clicks is not the thing to try. Google is the stat king, very hard to trick.

And, there is another thing to think about, IMHO, AdSense should not be implemented unless you have more than a reasonable amount of visits a day.
Because this will make the averages calculated over more pages loads and thus less extremes.
With 10 page loads, and two real clicks, you'd have 20% efficiency, which can look very suspicious to Google even though it could be honest.
Then, about an admin who clicks on his Google adds, well, this is not the thing to do, because there is no need for a lot as Google is most likely already knowing your IP (just requires you to log in to any of the Google services once and use the same ip to click on an AdSense of yours).
I have heard of admin being banned after a single clik after several month using AdSense.

Personally, my rule is not even a single cliks on my adSence never. And to make sure, I just do not output adds if it's my ip visiting the web site, in case somone else would visit my web-site using my ip (I use more than one computer with the same IP).

Then, about AdSense earnings, the AdSense TOS ask anyone using AdSense not to give any precise datas. It's as well not recommended to provide with accurate datas publicly.

All we can talk about is : is this better than, this, how to do this, to do better than this and etc ...

So my answer will be, I am sure many webmaster do earn enough for living with AdSense, not necessarily with one web site, it depends. Many make it to maintain a non profit web project (hosting), and many others do not earn much, because you need more than 10 visits per day ;)

I make about 160US$ per month in my site with adsense, a lot more than hosting costs, My traffic is very small, about 1500 visits per day.

The adsense TOS prohibit to divulgate how many impresions, clicks, CTR or CMP have my page. But i can tell the total amounts with no problem at all. Adsense do not demand to remain secret the total amount of money we make.

My google adsense earnings are a lot higher than the ones mentioned here.
If you play with the ad place and the colors you can raise your income.

For me it is now a nice income at the side, if i can get some extra links, i can make a living of it.

BTW
i know some guyes earning $9000,0 a month

I never even considered adsense when I built my site at first. I did it for the right reason- because I enjoyed doing it! Now I have over 10,000 pages indexed in Google, many of these are from the forum. Since installing the mods from this site my forum has been found by Google and often comes up in the search results.

Last month my site had about 30,000 visitors from Google and over 1 million page views and the adsense income for that month was a record.

I have had a lot of help from phpbb-seo and it has certainly made my site much more seo friendly.

Thanks to everyone that has helped

Hi again ultimatehandyman :)

I can't even find any AdSense on your site, except AdSense for search. Do you actually make money from that? I've never had anyone click on a sponsored search result on my sites.

You know that Google AdSense as 2nd post mod for phpBB is incredibly easy to install. If you're getting that many visitors, I bet you could make a buck or two.. ;)

Hi coyote,

adsense ads are all over my site. There are normally three adverts per page on the static pages and then they are in the topic header on each post in the forum and I also installed dcz's mod where the ads show after the first post.

It is doing very well to be honest and I am surprised as I never even thought about making money from my site, I made my site because I enjoyed doing it.

People seem to click on the sponsered search results on my site and some days I get $10 from the search alone.

My site has improved much since installing the seo mods from here

Thanks again to everyone that has helped

I opened it with IE and saw them. Firefox was blocking them. I forgot about NoScript.

That firefox is a pain in the butt for us advertisers lol

I do find it strange that Google encourages us to use firefox, but firefox has an option to turn off the adsense ads :?

Surely Google are loosing out on income by doing this :?
