Actually, the
visibility:hidden trick is one of the worst to use.
For sure you can increase substantially the amount of text in your web pages, with hopes bots will like it, but as spam indexing checks are becoming more and more accurate, doing so is taking great risk to get blaklisted by at least Google.
Again the
Google Webmaster Guidelines are to be followed if you want your site to last in serps.
SEO number one matter is time : how long to wait until you get first spidered, to reach this amount of backlinks, to reach this ranking etc ...
Using visibility:hidden tag to hide content to human and spam search engine Bots is the kind of thing that could at first make things a little bit faster, but your take great risk to loose all the time spent online.
If you get blacklisted, you'll most likely have to fight harder to reach again the position you had just before.
I think a better way is to directly work on content, why hiding copies of it, making it longer and better will even work better as you won't just repeat things.
