New Google indexing

Postby ProxiStyx » Fri May 31, 2013 3:43 pm

Hello,

I have a quite big phpBB2 Forum, around 2GB of DB. Finally I'd like to switch to phpBB3 incl. your SEO-Mod.

The question I'm considered about is how long it will take for google to index my site.

I mean: all of my links are going to change; google will hopefully (automatically?) delete the old links and replace them and how long can this procedure take? Can I speed it up somehow?

Any tips what else I might have to do/remember within my change?

All URLs will be 301-redirected, no worries!
I install and configure phpBB-SEO (and other mods) for a fair price and very fast. If you are interested simply send me a private message.

phpBB-SEO is caring for you or the Zero Duplicate Mod to be exactly.

It will take weeks until Google has indexed the new URLs, but when one clicks on an old one he will be redirected to the new URL.

I guess I didn't explain my problem probably:

I use atm phpBB2 with via .htaccess static urls. An exampe of the current urls would be:
  • ./viewf/1,0.html
  • ./viewt/291149,0.html
The comma at the end is optional, the number behind indicates how many posts or threads from the very top of the displayed site shall be hidden (phpBB2 had this option). Most links have the ",0" ending

phpBBSEO does not support this type of static URL. That means with the standard seo package I would ofc have different urls then my old forum although Google will still redirect to the old links.

That means either I create a temporary .htacces which will redirect from old to new urls, which might be kind of difficult or (which seems to me to be better) I try to change your SEO-Mod to allow the delimiter and virtual folder inside the url (hints where to start would be then great) or you might have another idea for me

PS: If I'm totally wrong and do not understand something you want to tell me please be patient
