Postby Professional » Wed Jan 28, 2009 2:19 pm

hi.
at first i apologize that i didn't come here recently that's because in our country the have filtered your site! so now i am with proxy.

now my question: my board version is now phpbb3.0.2 with GYM B3,i want to update my board to php3.0.4.my question is that can i at first B3 to lastest GYM version (will it work on 3.0.2?) an then upgarde my board version to 3.0.4?
i think i shoud completely remove the B3 and then install latest version of GYM is it right?

thank u.

No kidding

I'm really wondering what kind of terrorist they think we are

Where are you connecting from and are you sure about this ?

Should we contact UN right now  ?

Anyway, about GYM, and since you will be updating from 3.0.2 to 3.0.4, the easier will most likely be to go for a massive merge (using winmegre).

Just compare your phpBB dir with the latest premod's one to make sure you do not miss any new phpBB or SEO code and deal properly with your eventual editing.
Of course, this has to be done on a local /test server.
Once the merging is done (it's faster than it first seems), then just run the latest install/datatbase_update.php from any update package and you'll be done.
For GYM, just overwrite all file with the one from the root/ package of the latest GYM, and since you're upgrading form prior to 2.0.RC2, you'll have to uninstall / install it and loose all your settings, but it's the last time, newt one you'll be Abel to use our update script ;)

I still wonder about the "guilty" words here, it's not like we where talking about master security secrets here

No, you'll have to run the latest phpbb_seo_class.php for the HTML module to work properly.

For the update package, the latest install/database_update.php from any update package (phpBB SEO or phpBB.com) will do the job, but your files will have to be updated before you do it, so you'll have to do all this on a local / test server at first, and then on the live one, after you will have uploaded all the new files (and made backup db + files before of course).

thank u so much.
it was important for me to know db update will do this.
now i can test it at local and if i had problem will ask here.

about the filter because they have some robots that analyze sites if the robots find the specific words like V_P_n or S e X and ... filter that web site.
don't worry i 'll try to say them their fault
