Settings do not save in ACP

Postby Bibliophile » Mon Mar 02, 2009 4:42 pm

I have just installed the sitemaps mod, and I love it, but I am having a problem. When I try to change any setting for this mod in the ACP, it does not save. For example, if I go to PHBB SEO tab > Main Configuration and change "Links on Index" to "No," then click submit, I get the "Configuration updated successfully" message, but the setting does not actually update. The Main Config page still shows a "Yes" under that setting and the change is not effected on the front end. (The same thing happens with any other setting change I try.)

What could be causing this? How can I fix it? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I cleaned out the phpbb/cache folder -- is there any other I should clean?

Update: it now appears that the changes eventually took effect. About 1-2 hours later, both the ACP and front end are showing the changes. This leads me to believe that it was a caching issue -- but why wouldn't the ACP reflect the changes right away? No ACP settings for other features/mods seem to have a problem depending on the cache.

This is usually due to writing privileges being lost after a backup was restored through ftp, make sure that your have properly CHMODed the phpbb_seo/cache/ directory and the files inside of it. Should be enough.
