Today I logged in Google Webmaster Tools to find this sitemap error...

just in case if it is being cropped due to low width or screen res.

Could just be that your sitemap you submitted is just not working, what happens if you follow the link yourself ?

Please post (or pm) your site url if you need more help.

Most likely, it was just a temporary server or network sided matter (network unreachable, server reboot ...), since it's all working now.

Though, I would (by far) prefer to see the last touch;)

I've been getting the same error myself.

The odd thing is I have about seven sub forums. Three of them get this error and the rest do not. I've tried resetting the cache and resubmitting the url and it makes no difference.

The ones with the error seem to validate ok. And they are there when you go there manually. I'm really stumped and concerned (as one of the forums with the error has some of my highest traffic and is most active). I've also disabled the ping, as per a different thread reporting the same problem.

I'll pm you the url to one of the links

Hi Guys,
I'm getting this same error from Google:

Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit.

Everything seems to be working ok. My root site map is validating ok, so I'm guessing everything is ok on Google's side.
Can you take a look and give me some ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

I remove the gz extension and it still errors with Google:

Unsupported file format

Any ideas?

I tried removing the XSLT Styling feature and still received the same error, so I turned it back on.

Anyone home?....:)
I'd really like to get an opinion on this and get my sitemap submitted to Google.
Thanks,
Tim

http://www.validome.org/google/validate ... eTyp=INDEX

You sitemapindex is juts valid, same for your sitemaps : http://www.validome.org/google/validate ... forum/what
-shakin-f26.xml&lang=en&googleTyp=SITEMAP

Just resubmit your sitemapindex if you want google to forget faster about the error that must have occur ed when you where installing the mod.

Thanks SeO,
Google finally decided my sitemapindex was valid and accepted over 12,000 urls.

Guess google didn't have it's glasses on the last week.
Thanks again for a great mod....:)
