Style problem?

Postby chez » Sat Jun 20, 2009 5:24 pm

I have the premod 3.0.5 installed and all is working well on my test site.. except a couple of the pages aren't getting my style applied fully.

The News and Sitemap look fine.

The sitemapindex, RSS feed and channel list seem to have taken on my style's css, but doesn't have my forum header/footer/borders.

You can see my test forum here, with the links to the GYM pages at the bottom - http://test.ohlookaforum.com/

My style is revolution, which is a modified prosilver. It originally inhereted from prosilver, but has been modified to be a standalone style, with all appropriate files from the prosilver style copied into the revoluton folders.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Also, on the sitemap here, the "last 10 active topics" is formatted differently, withthe forum name appearing in the border, with no icon. On my site, it doesn't look as clean, as the forum name is above each section with an icon next to it and the word "topics" in the border.

How would I change that?

Here's screenshots of what I mean -

I kind of forgot to back-port this one, but will in the next release.

You can edit your template if you cannot wait.

Are you referring to the "last 10 active" thing? that can wait if it will be in a later release.

Any ideas on the first thing? I'd really like to have my sitemapindex, rss feed and channel lists show up in a page that looks like the rest of my site..

Thanks

You seem to already have added the .xsl files to your template dir, and loaded phpBB CSS too, so you now need to tweak the html inside of it, to make it look like your site. They are pretty close to .html templates, but header and footer are included in both (sitemap and rss's xsl template).

so i need to put an include line into each of the pages to include the header and footer?

Sorry if I don't make much sense.. html/css etc are all relatively new to me..

No, you cannot include anything in xsl template, they are not regular template and are processed separately. You need to tweak the html in them to match your style html tags for header and footer (included in that file) since the body matches well already.

There is no other way. Please note that xsl styling if mostly cosmetic, your sitemaps and RSS feeds do not need it to work.

I see, thanks dcz, that makes it clearer.. I knew that it was cosmetic, but as the pages are linked from my forum, i would like my visitors to see a standard look on each page. I will try this out on my test server.

I have tried editing the .xsl files but nothing seems to happen..

At the moment, this is the top of my sitemap page -

I want it to look like this -

Am I correct in saying I need to basically incorporate the html from my overall_header.html into the <head> section of the root\styles\(style name)\templates\gym_sitemaps\gym_google.xsl file?

Basically yes, but remember that no {TEMPLATE} variable will be handled in these, a part from the one already in there.

Then, once edited, you need to clear GYM's cache (gym_sitemaps/cache/) to see the result.
