How to make the feed like a news feed

I have just installed the sitemaps and RSS and am trying to get the rss feed to display on my site.

At the moment it lists the post title, the topic, the poster and some other info.

I just want to list the topic title with the first sentence from the post.

How do I do this?

This is what it looks like: **url removed** the left one in the middle of the page.

I wan't to look like the right one.

Also want to set it up so I can just have a list of recent post titles to display in the left column.

can someone help please...

Since you do seem to have some aggregator script in your portal, you may just need to import a feed with post content, like : rss/news/digest/rss.xml (would be gymrss.php?news&digest without mod_rewrite).
The news and digest parameter can be used for all feeds (general and per forum).

I didn't quite understand that. Do I put rss/news/digest/rss.xml infront of my forum url? If so it didn't work.

Well, did you aggregate the feed on your portal ? And if so, what is the url you have used ?

ok, using rss/news/digest/rss.xml does work now but it shows more info than I want.

It shows the post title, the category, some lines of text from the post, how many posts there are and how many views.

I just want the title and a few lines of text.

Ok, I have attached an image of what I get to explain better. As you can see it looks a mess.

I want to get rid of everything except the title and the short sentence from the post.

Currently, it's not very easy to remove part of the output.

On examples of people using the feed. I have either seen them using a list of post titles or a list of post titles with short extracts from the thread underneath. As I said it just looks a mess right now. Surely thats no how it is meant to be?

Complaining like this about free work is not how it is meant to be either.

Anyway, this could be a solution : Remove topic title from Item description
