hi,at GYM RC5,when i click news,it says No news see here:

i have selected some sub forum for news but ,this problem still exist.
what is problem?

Ok, seriously tho, I see the same issue on a site I am working on so I will start looking into it to see what I can figure out but chances are, we will need to wait for dcz. I already know it works on the same site hosted on my local server and the only difference between the two is that I had not enabled the mixed url rewriting for GYM yet on the local copy so maybe the rewrite feature in GYM has something to do with it. I have already made dcz aware of the problem in IRC but he is eating and will be back in a while.

I think that you just need to properly set up the rss feed used as source for this page in acp => GYM HTML => news settings tab, clear cache once done.
The typical rss feed to be used is : rss/news/digest/rss.xml
or gymrss.php?news&digest without url rewriting.

i changed tahat from:

and then cleared cache but still have problem

That is just plain odd because the link http://www.mobile4persian.com/forum/rss/news/digest/rss.xml works perfectly. Are you sure you put it in exactly as..

http://www.mobile4persian.com/forum/rss/news/digest/rss.xml

including the http:// ?

Also, don't quote me on this but you may need to purge the phpBB3 cache as well as the gym cache, I know for sure that cache files for gym can be found in both cache folders, the phpBB3 one the the one in the gym folder but I suppose its possible that it clears the files from both places when you clear the cache in the gym maintenance section but to be safe, clear the phpBB3 cache too unless dcz says that it is not needed.

It may be an allow_fopen matter, have you tried with a local path like :

can it be because of using sub silver2 style?

I believe you may have misunderstood.
Instead of:

use the relative path instead which would be:

Code: Select all

./gymrss.php?news&digest

the './' tells the server to use the relative (current) address so if your on 'http://www.yahoo.com' and they built a link that said './test.php' the resulting URL would actually be 'http://www.yahoo.com/test.php'. The whole idea behind trying this is the theory that your host has allow_fopen disabled, if it is disabled, this will make it work.

Give it a shot, all you put in is:

./gymrss.php?news&digest

You might wanna try checking your error logs, see if anythings in there, also, maybe enabling debug mode and seeing if there is any errors reported might be a good idea too. dcz and I talked about it and this is a very unusual problem that will be terribly hard to diagnose any further without ftp access.

If you haven't tried re-uploading the gym files from the download package than please try that too.
