Since the XML Sitemap Protocol is described by an XML Schema, I doubt you will need a DTD for it. :)

In other words: this is not a mistake in the sitemap it's just the validator.

The validator tells it to you :
w3c wrote:This document was successfully checked as well-formed XML!

With one warning :
w3c wrote:No DOCTYPE found! Checking XML syntax only.

The DOCTYPE Declaration was not recognized or is missing. This probably means that the Formal Public Identifier contains a spelling error, or that the Declaration is not using correct syntax, or that your XML document is not using a DOCTYPE Declaration.

Validation of the document has been skipped, and a simple check of the well-formedness of the XML syntax has been performed instead.

Some user do forget that these are xml sitemaps when they see the xsl styling html output.

The sitemaps are themselves valid 0.9 sitemaps : http://www.validome.org/google/validate ... yp=SITEMAP
