Site map error on google webmaster tool [solved]

Postby forhair » Thu Mar 25, 2010 4:28 pm

Hi
When accessing the webmaster Google account, it says that i have an error in the site map.
When i click on the sitemap for details it list all the forums and their status is ok except for this one:forum/forum-sitemap.xml.gz
The actual error details is: "General HTTP error: 404 not found
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit."
I had this error before in the past and i remember re-submitting the sitemap temporary fix it but after couple of days i got it again.
I attached a screenshot of the problem.
Can anyone help me please?

What appends if you load this sitemap yourself ?

Also, is this sitemap still displayed in your sitemapindex ?

When i open the sitemap with the error i get a forum page with this:
"The forum you selected does not exist."

yes, the SitemapIndex link is working good.

Anyway thanks. I solved it by re-ordering the phpbb rules and the GYM Sitemaps & RSS rules.
The GYM Sitemaps & RSS needs to come first.
If anyone have this problem just play with the order of the code in your htaccess file.
Thanks!
