Good day! I have constant problems with the google Sitemap. Details below. Web server lighttpd, rules rewrite exactly correct, problems with opening sitemap not, but Google from time to time that does not like it!

Where Google puts the error:
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

but, Sitemap perfectly and successfully opened! What's the problem? why Google itself is so? How do I fix this?

Most likely, the matter is with google himself or with the network (we've already seen this), because as long as you can load the "reported as guilty" url, it's a proof it just works.

Yes it is. But here on the network - I have a 99.9 uptime, and, more strangely, I have another site on the same server, and there is no problem with the sitemap at all ..... (Site not phpbb)

Maybe you recommend where to read the settings for optimal sitemap?

As said, we've already seen exactly this, and never could make the proof of anything (eg the sitemap just loads fine in all testable circumstances), so the most likely answer is google visiting your site after drinking a beer or two. I even saw google reporting an error in a sitemap right after a new submission while the sitemap itself stayed valid at the same time.

The strangest thing being google reporting the correct amount of url including the supposedly erroneous sitemap. The good part is that it does not seem to affect crawling in any way.

Of course, if you where to actually see anything wrong with the sitemap, it would be a totally different story.
