oh no! Now my forum is completely broken... I didn't do anything differently either... I went to purge my cache and after that, it broke...

Do you know what this means?

I went back and uploaded the original index.php to see if it would fix anything but I got the same error... then I went through the tutorial to paste in the phpbb seo mod code ... but nothing works...

Any suggestions?

Looks like you may have overwritten config.php or something. It can't make a connection to the database.

Check to make sure config.php is set up properly and try to clear your cache manually with ftp by deleting everything inside forumroot/cache. Then delete everything but .htaccess in phpbb_seo/cache/.
