Wow Msn Is Amazing

Hey all I just wanted to tell a sucess story I have with MSN.

I run a brand new forum gearing towards Microsoft stuff and I started it less then a month ago and WOW I am top ranked for 2 keywords I was targeting and the 2 keywords are Windows XP and Windows Media Player. I am trying now to rank for Internet Explorer. Wish me good luck. Oh and the traffic on them keywords are amazing also.

I think MSN give more credit to new sites, kind of link what Google did not so long ago, as well, the smaller amount of pages cached can partially explain why it seems easier to obtain good results with MSN Search.

What is for sure is msn search just loves mod rewritten URLs.

If only this could mean as much visits as if it was Google

I mean look at this one and even funnier this one I'd be very happy if phpBB SEO was trusting all of the first page of Google result on phpBB SEO, but guess which one is providing 30 times more visits ?

Actually, I think it's a matter of language in this case, as your query mention the and your home page does barely no contain any English.

It's the same for default : http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=lavinya

But you're for example first in the french datat center : http://search.msn.fr/results.aspx?q=lavinya
By the way this shows us how much language does counts and as well that English, being the most used, is always a special case.

Hey even I saw my new blog on Hindi Songs ranked at the number one position. But to my surprise its going back slowly from number one to number 9 now in 3 days.

That's how it is with MSN, new pages get boosted first in the results, and then, it's going back to "normal".

At least this is what I observed these past year. Anyway, what's really important is if you actually get visits from these results.
If so, you could add some linking to your best pages among your web-site, this will help out to keep them up in the MSN results.

I am getting 16.7% hits from MSN due to the good ranking.

I mean add some linking to the pages you want to optimize on.

For example, a topic get well ranked, and active, thus linked from the first page of a forum.

But, at one time, it's less active, but still as interesting, and still showing up in good place in the search results.
Now, as it's not active, it will go down in the forum listing, and the first page will not link to it any more. So it will appear as less important for a bot.

To maintain the good pages ranking, the one bringing the most visits, you need to add permanent links to these pages, to make them a bit special for a bot. The best is from the home page, but any level being easier to reach than the page itself in the site is good.
