Believe it or not, modx is something we've actually been discussing, today, literally hours and even within minutes of your post that was inquiring about it. It is definitely on our minds and could even end up on the table so stay tuned to see what comes out to the showroom floor next.

Excellent news.

So, when you guys do release the updated Advanced SEO. How is the best way to upgrade phpbb3 from 3.0.4 to 3.0.5.

When it's going throuh, and finding the changed files, do you submit their changes. Then, once done, go back through, and make the updated required my the SEO mod?

Wondering what the best way to update this will be.

We should release the standalone mods shortly. The best update route will then be to a) update all phpBB files keeping the mod's code as they are (will work expect for function_content.php, just use the new unmodded file at first for this one) and then b) perform our mod update following the update instruction that will be provided in the package, without forgetting to re mod the function_content.php with the install instructions and finally c) update the db using the install/database_update.php script.

You can as well use the phpBB.com auto update package, and just use the new files when the SEO mod code is involved and then re mod it.

There is nothing difficult really ,just a matter of few ours at the most, but of course, doing this on a local server is far safer.

Are there any particularly strong reasons for upgrading from 3.0.4 to 3.0.5 at the moment? I've looked at the changelog and it all seems to be minor bug fixes, I don't see any security issues.

It's just that I'm coming up to busy season for the site and I don't want to spend my summer days slaving over a hot computer.

They are already talking about 3.0.6, with some new features including Atom feeds and quick reply etc. So I feel like just waiting for 3.0.6 unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade. Speaking of the Atom feeds, do you know if they will cause problems with the GYM RSS feeds?

phpBB atom feeds will not interfere with GYM's one.

About updating to 3.0.5, well, it's always better to stay up to date, and in this case, it would be an occasion to enjoy the SEO mod update too ;)
