I think there are allready some good mods that make joomla and smf pretty good seo'wise. Take a look at: http://www.airridetalk.com/, at the bottem of the frontpage you see the last topics rewritten and the rest of the forum is allso rewritten. I could not find any duplicates, but i am not as expirienced as you are.

The airridetalk website is the kind of seo i am allso planning for my website.

I know there maybe wil come great portal and stuff, but it is going to take some time. And i also want to make a decision for the real long therm, sow i have to be sure that the portal/cms that i choose will be maintained on the long therm. And with big projects like joomla and smf i know that, but with phpbb3portal and small initiatives like it i don't have that kind of certainty.

Pretty nice in deed.

Would require some work on the dupes, such as :
&
-http://www.airridetalk.com/forum/general/post-your-rides-show-em-what-you-got-9.msg863.html#new
and
-http://www.airridetalk.com/forum/general/post-your-rides-show-em-what-you-got-9.0.html
&
-http://www.airridetalk.com/forum/general/post-your-rides-show-em-what-you-got-9.html
&
-http://www.airridetalk.com/forum/general/post-your-rides-show-em-what-you-got-9.msg12.html

By the way, the standard does not allow easy disallowing of post URL (the one with msg in it)
For topics, without mentioning the title editions or misspellings such as -http://www.airridetalk.com/forum/general/dupe-9.html

So I guess we could manage some interesting improvement. Will see this closer after I get done with phpBB3 a bit more.

About phpbb3portal, it looks like a real project IMHO, but you're right, this does matter a lot.

Looks promising as a simple phpBB3 portal...

hi dcz!

Long time, remember me?

I have only just seen this one today actually. The overall opinion is great, really, really pleased that someone's taken off where Smartor's EZ Portal (which I have installed) failed to ever take off/show signs of re-enlightment after announcement of phpBB3.

I've also been following your SEO on phpBB too, very interesting.

No doubt that as soon as we've converted, stripped-out, done more testing i'll be spending more time on here again.

I don't suppose that you still run that test result feature that you had for phpbb2 where one compared results beofre and after to see how SERPS were affected.. it's probably been way over a year or so since I installed your excellent code - and thanks to you aswell, we're finally PR5 :) seems like forever that we've been PR4!

Many BESTEST Regards

Off course I do :D

Actually you where one of the biggest website owner to go for our mods in the early days.

We still run the report thread, still as useful to get advised.

Really glad for your PR5 :D

About phpBB3, you may know phpBB2RC1 converter was bugged, so talking about a big board like yours, I'd not go for it with RC2, but rather wait for the first un-bugged converter (the bugs so far only applied for big DB).

But it would be good if you start to test peacefully.

As well, our mod rewrite needs to be updated for RC2 it seems, I'll look at it today or tomorrow ;)
