Common installation oversights

Postby fdinoto » Fri May 16, 2008 9:45 pm

I have installed SEO MOD on phpbb3 but my URL are still not being re-written.

I have put the .htaccess in the root of my phpbb3. I have chown -r www phpbb3_seo/ .
The installer tells me i have installed SEO successfully.

I checked the system info and it says MOD_REWRITE is a loaded module.

when I am in the ACP the tab is labeled ACP_CAT_PHPBB_SEO, i read in another post that this means i did not fully complete the install.

I am not trying to acheive any search engine optimization. I simply want friendly URLS and URLS that do not have session information in them.

what did i miss?

If you see ACP_CAT_PHPBB_SEO and not phpBB SEO in the ACP, it means that you did not copy the language/en/acp/phpbb_seo.php file in all your language packs, we only provide with English and french so far, but you still need as always a language file, even not translated, for each language pack.

Then, you need to activate url rewriting in the acp (firt option of the url rewriting settings).
