some problem

Postby kikko088 » Sat Jul 04, 2009 11:22 am

hi at all, first excuse me for my bad english, I have a problem with this mod, i have install the mod, i create .htaccess with my preference, I upload it and the rewrite is ok but if I go in a member profile the page is without css (or something like this), you can see the problem here: http://www.endurodoc.net/forum/member/admin/

I have another question, why if i change the preference, recreate the .htaccess and I upload this the site reciver 404 error?

ps. the forum was integrate with wordrpess by wp-united
thank you

For the first issue it sounds like a cache problem, you need to clear the phpbb cache and refresh the template and theme or to save time, if your connected via FTP, just go into the cache folder and delete every file except the .htaccess.

For the second problem, I would guess that a 404 after making changes in the .htaccess would mean that you tried to change something that shouldn't have been. Please be more specific with the optuions chose that cause the problem if you would like a more specific answer.

I want to clarify something. Before you start installing the SEO mods, are you making sure that the wordpress and phpBB are working completely fin? I only ask so we can confirm the problem is with the SEO mod installs and not actually with the WP-United install.

Also, please paste your current .htaccess or both the .htaccess's if you are using two.

Hi, i think that is a seo mod problem because if I turn of the rewrite mode i see the membar pago ok, the .htaccess of the wordpress site is:

Code: Select all
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

while the .htaccess of the forum is:

Code: Select all

    # Lines That should already be in your .htacess
    <Files "config.php">
    Order Allow,Deny
    Deny from All
    </Files>
    <Files "common.php">
    Order Allow,Deny
    Deny from All
    </Files>

    # You may need to un-comment the following lines
    # Options +FollowSymlinks
    # To make sure that rewritten dir or file (/|.html) will not load dir.php in case it exist
    # Options -MultiViews
    # REMEBER YOU ONLY NEED TO STARD MOD REWRITE ONCE
    RewriteEngine On
    # REWRITE BASE
    RewriteBase /forum/
    # HERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO FORCE CANONICAL DOMAIN
    # RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.endurodoc\.net$ [NC]
    # RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.endurodoc.net/forum/$1 [QSA,L,R=301]

    # DO NOT GO FURTHER IF THE REQUESTED FILE / DIR DOES EXISTS
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule . - [L]

The style issue is most likely due to the fact that you did not implement the required code changes in all your styles.

For the .htaccess, if you are mixing WP and phpBB's .htaccess in the same file, you need to put WP's rewriterules after the phpBB ones.

I try to recheck the code but is very strange because i check it a lot of time...for the .htaccess are two different file in two different directory (wp root and phpbb root)

Is the phpBB's .htaccess exactly located where the red messages of the .htaccess generator tells you to, and not anywhere else ?

About styles it may be a dumb check, but did you actually applied the code change on all your styles and not only on the two default ones ?

And did you actually refreshed your template using the style ACP as advised in the install file ?

nothing to do...the red message say to put .htaccess on the site root instead the forum root where i put .htaccess, I have put the .htaccess on the root of site but nothing.
I applied the change only to SimpleRedLight style following subsilver2 instructions, I refresh cache anc ACP-STYLE on ACP-General and chace folder in the root of phpbb but nothing...:(

If I create an admin user for you, can you help me?

Note that you can generate an .htaccess meant to be used in phpBB directory in case it is installed in a sub directory, and that WP rewriterules should be used after phpBB ones in case you're merging the two .htaccess in one.
