posting problems with seo mod

Postby mtsandeep » Tue Aug 18, 2009 2:54 am

i fixed all my problems except this one.

All the links are now seo friendly,
post links are now like this, example.com/first-day-of-forum-t5.html#p31

but after posting a reply, the page link becomes, example.com/post70.html#p70

Foes anyone know how this happens?

Another problem is in the home page which shows the latest post of forums, it also shows the urls like, example.com/post70.html#p70 .

how to make this to the rewritten url??

You need to re check all the edits you made during the install. It seems like you missed or messed up some. Also, when your done checking all those edits, make sure you purge the cache in the acp general tab and also refresh the styles templates and themes in the style tab.

Try our phpBB SEO No duplicate mod to remedy your problem. Sorry I misunderstood your problem the first time.

Remember, after installing it, you must enable it in the ACP in the phpBB SEO Class section in the phpBB SEO tab.

You haven't properly installed/activated the NoDupe mod yet, I can tell because if you had, the main page would now be showing the last post title by the last post name and the little last post icon your worried about would be working right.

Make sure you followed all the installation instructions for NoDupe and that you went into the ACP and activated it (turned it on). Be sure you applying the prosilver instructions to your custom theme when i nstalling our mods.

This is a peice of the install instructions, this is two edits, one is to a prosilver file, one to a subsilver, you would pick the edit your style is based off of, in this case, your case, thats prosilver. So you would take the prosilver edit below and apply it to your theme too.
Code: Select all
#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#

styles/prosilver/template/forumlist_body.html

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#

                  <!-- IF forumrow.LAST_POST_TIME --><dfn>{L_LAST_POST}</dfn>

#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#

<!-- IF forumrow.LAST_POST_LINK --><i>{forumrow.LAST_POST_LINK}</i><br/><!-- ENDIF -->

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#

styles/subsilver2/template/forumlist_body.html

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#

            <!-- IF forumrow.LAST_POST_TIME -->

#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#

               <!-- IF forumrow.LAST_POST_LINK -->
               <p class="topicdetails"><i>{forumrow.LAST_POST_LINK}</i></p>
               <!-- ENDIF -->

#

Perhaps I have solved problem.

In install instruction was, what i have before changed how in instruction. This is the part in instruction:

Code: Select all
styles/prosilver/template/posting_editor.html

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#

   <dl style="clear: left;">
      <dt><label for="subject">{L_SUBJECT}:</label></dt>
      <dd><input type="text" name="subject" id="subject" size="45" maxlength="<!-- IF S_NEW_MESSAGE -->60<!-- ELSE -->64<!-- ENDIF -->" tabindex="2" value="{SUBJECT}{DRAFT_SUBJECT}" class="inputbox autowidth" /></dd>
   </dl>

#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#

      <!-- IF S_URL -->
      <dl style="clear: left;">
         <dt><label for="url">URL:</label></dt>
            <dd><input type="text" name="url" id="url" size="45" maxlength="250" tabindex="2" value="{TOPIC_URL}" class="inputbox autowidth" /></dd>
      </dl>
      <!-- ENDIF -->

After remove this from template is running allthings ok without error.

You must have done something wrong while copy pasting this part. It is required for custom topic urls.
