What page is it trying to find when you get the 404? Also, could you post the contents of your .htaccess file in the phpBB root folder.

I don't see the 404 error you speak of... also it seems you do not have phpBBSEO activated on your phpBB installation.

I turned it off for the fact that no page works when activated.

You need to create an htaccess file. Go to your ACP and browser to the phpbb SEO tab.

Next browser to the .htaccess page and scroll down. Click the "More options" option then click "submit".

Next, click the Save htaccess" and "location" options and click "submit".

Now login to your FTP and browser to the "/phpbb_seo/cache/" folder of your phpbb installation.
Move the file ".htaccess_current" to your phpBB root folder and rename it to ".htaccess".

This should fix your 404 error problem.

...What hosting company do you use? Some hosts do not allow you to modify the .htaccess. If that is the issue then you cannot use this MOD.

My phpbb forums are in a sub folder. And I am getting redirected to root without it going to /forum.
