Hi everyone,
I do not know if I'm in the right place but I expose my problem:

I'm about to migrate a phpbb2 forum to phpbb3 advanced seo. actually, this phpbb2 has not rewrite rule
The forum about 80,000 pages and is indexed google but I do not want to lose the current position.

Today, phpbbb2 is the root of the site, I wish to move to a new directory:
- To - (the statics pages html will remain at the root)

today on the the google SERP the website is:
- ...
and I want this:

thank you for your help.

You should test locally using these directions: How to set up a local server using xampp. Generate the .htaccess as phpBB-seo instructions indicate; that will handle any new threads. For the old threads, use something like this

Code: Select all
RewriteRule viewtopic.php forums/viewtopic.php [QSA,L,NC]
RewriteRule viewforum.php forums/viewforum.php [QSA,L,NC]

That will redirect from the "old" location for viewtopic/viewforum/etc to the new location; that will get redirected to the final canonical URL by the phpBB-seo specific RewriteRule's. Be sure to test this locally before going live; you really really don't want to screw up your SERPs by redirecting incorrectly. Once you go live, double-check they're correct with -- verify that it 301 redirects to the final destination when you enter an "old" URL. ... l#flag_qsa
