PhpBB Seo Mod Install

Postby Kingsway » Wed May 27, 2009 12:10 pm

Hi, great forum and mods -

I hope ive posted this in the correct forum if not apologies ,

I wanted to ask if there was anyone on here that would be available to install the seo mod for us when our new forum is up in a week or so. im not sure what the going price is but i need someone who knows what they are doing.. i have a varified paypal account.

We currently have a phpBB2 forum withover 57019 articles and using an old SEO mod with urls like

Example:

forums/onelove-organ-grooves-volume-1-organ-house-t18410.html

forums/change-hold-tight-1981-t18334.html etc

I installed the old seo mod on our current forum but i dont think its runing correctly as some viewtopic links still show up and duplicate links are still being created.

i basically need to convert the old phpBB2 forum first complete then complete our new design. Then i would be looking for someone to install a seo mod for us to create the same old urls so we dont lose backlinks, page rank, serch listings or visiting traffic not seing the posts etc..

Would someone here be able to offer install service?

any help would be apprecaited

my emaill address is webmasterguy{at}gmail.com

Since you're converting from phpBB2, I would suggest two things :
First, convert using the SEO premod, it will work exactly as phpBB but you won't have to edit a single line of code to get all the SEO stuff (extra themes can be easily patched too, look in the premod's forum).
Then, since phpBB 3.0.5RC1 was already released, I suggest that you wait until it get out to convert, this will save you an update.

Until then, you could give a try to our SEO premod on a local / test server to see what you'll be able to do with it.

Url redirection will be pretty easy to implement, you would just have to eventually keep some of the old rewriterules to do so as it was told here : Converting From phpBB 2 with AMR to phpBB 3 with AMR

3.0.5 is only close to be released (3.0.5RC1 was already released at phpBB code forge), not released yet, but we've already worked a lot on the SEO code which will be released together with the SEO premod 3.0.5 release.
