hi im currently on phpbb3.0.2 and want to upgrade to the seo premod, which I now see is on latest version 3.0.4

whats my best route of upgrade?
upgrade my standard pbpbb 3.02 to 3.0.3 then 3.0.4, and then migrate to seo? if so how?

or can i just upload all the seo premod 3.0.4 files and overright my standard 3.0.2 installaton?

If you do not have custom code to keep from you 3.0.2 phpBB, then, you can safely upload all files except config.php and the .htaccess from the premod's archive root/ dir in your forum's root.

Then, you'll need to run install/database_update.php and delete the install/ dir to update your db.

And then, install the phpBB SEO acp (phpbb_seo/phpbb_seo_install.php) and GYM (gym_sitemaps/gym_install.php) and finally run the no duplicate query to be found above in this thread.

To safely do the whole thing, I strongly encourage you to try it on a local server and to backup your db first. And then, to only activate url rewriting once you've chosen the url you want ot use and generated (and tested) you .htaccess. But besides, nothing should go wrong.

If you had many code to keep, you would need to additionnally put it back in the premod's files before you upload them. This can be done pretty easily with software's such as winmerge.

I need to know what mysql schema are diferent between phpbb 3.0.4 and phpbb 3.0.4 seo premod.
Just create ACP module and that is all? Or anything else?
What difference are between clasic phpBB and your aplication in database, exactly?

The difference are minor, the only thing changed, beside the acp module addition, is an extra index on the topic table for the no duplicate. The query for it is to be found in it's install package. The index can be dropped if you do not use the no duplicate without consequences on your data.

I sugest you to make a full backup, clean your files and database from any modification, then install phpbb-seo premod.
After this settings you can look if exist compatibility between phpbb-seo premod and mod which are running currently.
Is the best way for prevent errors.
Don't forget, make a full backup!!!

You do not necessarily need to clean your db, but you'll for sure need to work, and to first set this up on a local / private server before you go online.
