Trying to get help with zero dup and no duplicate mods

Postby aeitos » Tue Sep 08, 2009 9:01 am

Hey,

I'm trying to find help on this issue im currently experiencing with duplicates. All through Google and my webmaster tools i've been receiving duplicates of everything. I installed the premod, and was able to setup the active URL redirecting, and the advanced URL redirecting time, and the active URL redirecting, but when i check google results, it shows three different webpages for the same topic.

For example:
this-is-my-topic-post.html
post15.html
viewforum.php?f=20&t=50

and sometimes ones that look like this:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20&start=0

I tried setting "activate The no duplicate" to yes, and setting "activate the zero duplicate" to yes, and strict mode to yes, along with post redirections set to all, but this didn't appear to do anything at all as i can still access three different URL's for the same webpage and there are not redirects whatsoever.

Does anyone have any ideas of what needs to be done or of whats going on?

Are you sure that the url displayed in the address bar stays the same when you try an un-rewritten topic url (viewtopic.php?f=20&t=50) for example ?

Could you post (or pm) your site url ?

yes :( im sure it's doing it because the viewtopic and post pages keep getting indexed by google, and the whenever i find them on the search engines, the URL address bar stays the exact same and never redirects.

Maybe you're not returning 301's? Check with this: http://web-sniffer.net/

Ya I already checked that too and it connects to the page with 200 instead of 301. :(

Would help out to find out.

But make sure that you have the proper and up to date files as well.
