Stoked - Just updated my board with the pre-mod!

Postby 5942marine » Mon Nov 23, 2009 8:02 pm

So I just updated my board with the pre-mod. I actually did a different way for updating it.

Basically, I deleted everything, except the config.php file, image, and files directories.

Then, I uploaded the pre-mod, extracted it on my server. All you have to do then, is run /install/database_update.php

Then, delete the install directory.

Other than that, I did upload my cached files inside /phpbb_seo/cache/*.* Basically, 3 files.

Guys, easiest update yet. Woot Woot! Also, I love the Related Topics. Have it working.

Why we're talking about that, have a question. Is there in the acp, a module for the settings for it? I can't find it at all. But it's working on my forum.

Thanks guys, I love the work you do!

Don't you see "extended settings" in the phpBB SEO acp category ?

No, it's not there. Interesting.

Here's a snapshot of the acp phpbbseo tab

mm. Try to un-install / re-install the phpBB SEO acp, using phpbb_seo/phpbb_seo_install.php, you won't loose settings.

;)

Should be more accurate than others with myslq FullText index since results are indeed sorted by relevancy and you can exclude the search ignore word list. Should as well take less resources since the query is prepared so that not all the title is matched for (only words of more that 2 letters by default), but rather the relevant part.

In the future you could also just use the changed files package. That contains all files that have changed since 3.0.5 and just upload it and overwrite the old ones.
Ofcourse afterwords the installer aswell for database upgrade.
