I am a newbie. I tried to install phpBB SEO Premod version 3.0.6 . Steps I have done is given below:
1. Copied all files except install directory and config.php from root to my phpbb directory.
2. Then while logged in as Administrator, took the url mysite/phpbb_seo/phpbb_seo_install.php
3. On taking this url, I can see the installation page of the mod. But, on clicking any link, it is getting redirected to the login page. I can't go further from there and install the mod.

Please help me to install the mod. I just need simple mod I think.

3.0.7 is going to be release very shortly, so you may want to wait a bit more to use it directly.
About your issue, are you logged in as admin AND founder before you hit the install script ?

I tried to run the installation script after logging in as admin. I don't know, how to login as founder.

Being a FOUNDER is not a login property, but a user property. If you started the board, you're FOUNDER, if not, you will need to ask an admin FOUNDER to grant you.
Or, if you have ftp access (which should be a good proof you have enough right to mess up ), you can delete :

in phpbb_seo/phpbb_seo_install.php to accept admin not being founder to also run the script.

Thanks for the guidance. I tried by deleting the code that is mentioned above. But, still I was getting redirected to login each time, I click on any tab in the phpbb_seo_install.php page. Then I removed the following lines too getting the idea from you.

So, I think, I have removed all the user login checking. Then, I was able to install the SEO mod.

In the PHPBB SEO tab in ACP, I have enabled url rewriting, Selected Mixed mod. Then, added the following .htaccess to the root. But, I am getting the '404 Page not found' error.

Please guide me in this issue also. Also, what should I do to remove the extension? I don't want any extension. Precisely, I want the url to be like in
http://demo.phpbb-seo.net/. Please help me on this.

Sorry. That was a mistake from my part. Changed setting in htaccess generator in include htaccess in the subdomain. Now, the seo mod works.
Now, I am using mixed mod. How, can I get seo url similar to http://demo.phpbb-seo.net? Which mod(Advanced or Mixed) should I use? What all are the changes needed in htaccess. Please advise.

The mixed and advanced mode .htaccess are the same. On the demo server, we've set the advanced mode, while on phpBB SEO, we're using the mixed one.
With SQL rewriting activated, the mixed mode is very powerful, because it allow you to use static rewriting for most topics, and set custom urls for the (most) important topics.
