Just wanted to ask really about all the current SEO work I'm investing in phpBB 2.x.x - and will it all need re-looking at by the time phpBB 3's been publically released or should the changes I make now be good to go ?

As per almost all moddings, you'll need to upgrade them while upgrading phpBB.

Besides, the phpBB3 URLs structure is slightly different from phpBB2, so there will be some work, but as you can see, in the end, it's not the mod rewrites to be this difficult to install, at least once you've figured where and how install the .htaccess

Anyway, phpBB SEO will be ready
