Please advise - how to start

Postby prekill » Mon Jun 03, 2013 8:10 am

Hey,

I have a ravenuke system which is using phpbb2,

I can see in google webmaster tools many duplicated content...

I want to install "Zero Duplicate phpBB2".

I have a big forum, allmost 200,000 posts in it.

What will be the right way of installing the mod without loosing all my forum links?

How my robots.txt should look like?

Thanks for the help

:)

A first step would be upgrading to phpBB3; version 2 is so old, it isn't even available on phpBB.com for download. Honestly I'm baffled that phpBB-SEO has a section for phpBB2 given that there has been no active development on it for several years. The good folks at phpbb.com can offer you upgrade assistance, e.g., http://www.phpbb.com/community/docs/INS ... ml#convert

Once that's done, there's ample documentation on switching to phpBB-SEO, e.g., [HOW TO] Install the phpBB SEO premod on phpBB and How to set up a local server using xampp.

Yes, that's the purpose of the zero dupe mod.
