Nice work, and without mx Google sitemaps ;)

Google did find your new URLs quite well, I am sure you're already experimenting more visitors.

With this many topics, I think you should install at least mx google sitemaps, to help out Google finding the new content even faster.

Ok, that's why, you almost did not change your URL standard, so Google is working since a long time on your site.

I still think mx Google sitemaps will help out to, maybe you should turn mod rewrite on for the sitemaps links, not very important for this version, but will with the next one ;)

I am sure we'll soon start to see some results ;)

You forum is quite new to search engines, but the caching already started, so it's only a matter of time before you'll see a lot more pages in these lists.

Work on adding backlinks and content on a regular basis and you'll be pleased :D

Really nice indexing ;)

You may see the number of indexed page decrease a bit with the zero dupe, as you'll kill them all ;)

But this will be better for SERPs and Page-Ranking.

:D

Report for www.home-barista.com

Date : 02 Feb 2007
Forum URL : http://www.home-barista.com/forums/

Indexing :
Absolute number of pages : 2,461 topics and 29,042 posts, est. 8,000 pages
Google PageRank
  • Google PageRank : 5
  • Predicted Google PageRank : same
Search Engine Optimizations :
  • mod Rewrite : Advanced 0.2.2 + Zero Dupe
  • mx Google Sitemaps : Yes
  • mx Sitemaps : No
  • Others : Optimized Title, Dynamic Metatags (partial), guest sessions, various mods including own pagination duplicate cleanup
Additional comments
Prior to installing phpbb-seo's mods, I cobbled together SEO modifications from various sites and articles (e.g., in phpbb.com knowledge base). There was no robots.txt rules for the forums in the site's early days and the search engines indexed the viewtopic.php?p= pages; it took a few months for google et al to drop them. Since the zero dupe mod is installed, I've removed that rule, hoping the site may pick up a few more backlinks that were previously ignored.

Excellent :D

This will as well be a very nice example of migration.

You did really a good job for this, you exactly followed the required steps for a migration with this many pages indexed.

As the switch was instant, it should be quite different at the end of the month, the zero dupe will have gotten rid of most of the older URLs (here vanilla ones) and the dupes as well, I know you did a good job with your robots.txt, but you'll reduce the pagination ones, and they are many.

In you case, I don't think you'll see drastic changes in indexing, besides the url updates, but you should experience a boost in SERPS after the migration will end ;)

Bots must be crawling like crazy nuts right now :D
