Everything working but 0 URLs found

Postby qcavalier » Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:27 am

Well I've been struggling with this for a few months now.. Before I had my sitemap generated by GSiteCrawler both for my website http://www.q-cavaliers.com as for my forum http://www.cavalierforum.org

But since my forum refuses to show up in google ever and it always said 0 URLs in the webmaster stuff from google I installed the SEO toolkit beginning of this week..

At first I had a few problems with my robots.txt and so I fixed the problems (according to the sitemap overview in Google).. As of yesterday it says OK for the sitemaps.xml (http://www.cavalierforum.org/sitemaps.xml) but it still says 0 URLs found...

Does anybody have any idea why this is and if it'll be fixed in time or not?

Thank you for any information!

Several things to do now.
First install the zero duplicate mod to properly redirect the viewtopic urls to the rewritten ones.
Then, for the forum sitemaps, I suggest the use of GYM sitemaps since it will never list any duplicate.

You can keep your current robts.txt, but make sure you do not add the lines suggested by our mod to soon.

Last but not least, make sure that the bots groups has the right to see and view all public forums.

Once all this will be done, things should start getting better ;)

Converting to our phpBB3 SEO premod is as well something you could think about since phpBB2 is not supported any more.

Hi
Sorry for the late response but I was on vacation last week so I installed the zero duplicate mod an dthe gym sitemap (was already installed), let google reload the sitemaps.xml but I still got the same problem.. :(

It seems like my forum is cursed or something cause google simply refuses to index it :(
any help is appreciated and let me know if you need anything else to help figuring out the problem...

Read and view authorisation is enough for bots, it's even a potential risk to allow them to post.
