Unfortunately, phpBB3 is currently taking all our dev effort.

It does not mean that we'll never work on phpBB2 plus if it keeps on being dev, but it's not for right now.

well RC isn't beta, and RC7 is pretty close to gold IMHO.
Besides, that's the only way to be ready.
