Advanced rewrite for The Blog Mod?

Postby Peter77 » Sun Jun 04, 2006 6:33 am

Remember the webmadic version of SEO rewrite for the blog mod? I've used it before and it worked, but I think there can be a lighter way of doing this? to creat a version of the Advanced, Simple and Mixed MOD rewrite, for the Blog mod... would be great.

Here is what the webmedic rewrite looks like
http://www.theblogmod.com/download/seo_v1.zip

Thanks :)

Yes, I know about this method, and I will take a look to the blogs code, but what I do not like at all here is the way this mod is being maintained this past year.
Actually, I would have done a patch before if the mod was ok to really work with, which is far to be the case.

Sorry for being rude here, but after all, I have tried so much to save hyperion's work at phpBB.com, I am fed up with Hardworking not even daring to answer :!:

And the last update just frightened me, the first version to introduced more errors than the previous release. So hopefully, these were fixed thanks to another phpBB.com member, but I personally do not trust this mod's code anymore, until the contrary gets proven.

So I don't really want to be the one to make this blog so much viewed that hackers will send me roses ;)

For sure, it is possible to Search Engine Optimize (SEO) the Blog Mod, but is it worth it at this stage?

Actually, I do have blog site projects, but I think I'll ever go for another script or, but I doubt it, will rewrite this one ;)

I think what the blog mod shows us is that this is a great and big project, almost such as any blog software, that needs a real dev team.

That's why I am considering using a blog script being really maintained and know to be trust-able so I'd only have to maintain the user layer I'd have to write down for it. And not the blogs code itself, which I do not have time for.

Yup, I understand your frustration about the blog MOd. It's good that some have contributed to it like you mention and others continue to. But would be nice to see a stronger dev leader in the future.
