[sb links] What is... Simple Social bookmark links ?

Postby WebmastAir » Tue Mar 18, 2008 10:43 am

Hi,

It's not really for a support but I'm afraid I don't see clearly what is the utility of this mod :?

I've installed it and I don't see any change.

Can you please let me know what it really does and if I can see how it work ?

Thanks and sorry for my ignorance in this domain.

It adds the links at the bottom of the page (see "Bookmark the pages you prefer in your favorite social bookmarking service" at the bottom of the page you are now viewing). The patch uses JavaScript to avoid creating reference links to the bookmarking services (included in the overall_header and generated in the overall_footer).

Thanks... it's what I expected but I don't see any link at top or bottom.

Could it be that it doesn't work with my versions (phpBB 2.0.23 and CH 2.1.6c) ?

... and if yes and install is not good, sould I not have messages ?

As MODs go, this one is pretty simple. Include some JavaScript, call some JavaScript. It should work in any HTML page, whether it be phpBB or other. I assume you skipped a step, or maybe have JavaScript disabled.

Please recheck your work, and if you're still stuck, post a link to your site.

I don't see the MOD in your pages, e.g.,

http://www.lescompair.be/forumn/viewtopic.php?t=2125

In the HTML there should be something like this in the heading:

Code: Select all
<script src="sbjs/be/bookmarks.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

And the footer:

Code: Select all
<script language="javascript">
social_bookmarks();
</script>

This mod is less than a page... it should not be difficult.

You're right !... the mistake was that I had put the same code on Heading and Footer... I put the right code and it worked fine.

Only, little time after, pm of members asked me not to charge the home page...then I removed it back.

Thank you anyway for your help.

Hello!

Great MOD, would like to install it. Just how do I deal with the page_header.php in phpBB3?

Thanks!
